Experience

As a lead Backup Administrator at TCS, I spearheaded the successful migration of over 4,000 servers into the Commvault ecosystem, driving one of the company’s largest backup transformation initiatives. I engaged directly with clients to assess evolving data protection requirements and implemented tailored solutions aligned with organizational goals.
Key responsibilities included:
-
Installing, configuring, and upgrading Commvault infrastructure components, while ensuring high availability and performance.
-
Enhancing backup monitoring using automated email alerts, and developing disaster recovery protocols to support business continuity.
-
Integrating Azure cloud storage into backup workflows, and configuring backup jobs for critical databases such as SAP HANA, DB2, and SQL Server.
-
Conducting routine performance evaluations of backup servers to identify bottlenecks and recommend necessary upgrades for system optimization.
-
Leading data restoration efforts across multiple platforms with a focus on accuracy and minimal downtime.
-
Generating detailed daily backup reports, and maintaining up-to-date Media Agents with the latest patches and features to ensure operational integrity.
Additionally, I played a pivotal role in the cloud migration of enterprise storage systems, transitioning from legacy tape and disk-based architectures to secure, scalable cloud solutions. I consistently demonstrated adaptability by integrating emerging technologies into backup and recovery strategies, aligning with GDPR, NIST, and internal data retention policies.
Throughout this initiative, I optimized Commvault's performance in hybrid environments, combining deep technical knowledge with strategic execution to improve reliability, reduce data loss risk, and enhance overall data governance.

· Cloud Infrastructure Automation: Deployed and maintained infrastructure across hybrid environments using AWS Systems Manager, Azure Resource Manager, and Commvault, automating patch management and system updates to minimize manual intervention and ensure uptime.
· Monitoring & Observability: Centralized performance monitoring by integrating logs from multi-cloud workloads into FortiSIEM and Cortex XDR, improving system health visibility and enabling proactive incident response.
· Backup & Disaster Recovery: Architected automated backup pipelines using Commvault Media Agents for AWS S3, on-prem disk, and tape systems, achieving a 99.9% success rate and ensuring disaster recovery readiness for critical workloads.
· Cloud Security & Compliance: Enforced cloud-native security policies including firewall configurations (AWS Security Groups, Azure NSGs, FortiGate), IAM roles, and encryption using Thales CipherTrust, aligning with GDPR and NIST standards.
· Infrastructure Scaling & Optimization: Tuned infrastructure configurations, load distributions, and deduplication settings to improve backup performance and reduce storage costs across cloud and on-prem environments.
· CI/CD & Automation Tools Exposure: Collaborated with DevOps teams to design infrastructure as code templates (Terraform, ARM), automate provisioning workflows, and support CI/CD readiness for cloud workloads.
· Reporting & Dashboards: Created SLA-based dashboards for backup health, system performance, and compliance using Power BI and JIRA, enabling informed executive decision-making and operational transparency.
· Incident & Workflow Management: Tracked and resolved infrastructure incidents through JIRA, developed SOPs for recurring system issues, and led RCA sessions with vendors to reduce mean time to resolution by 35%.
